Christmas Eve: Dreamers Who Dare to Make a Difference

On Christmas Eve, we pause at the edge of the story. The waiting is almost over. Hope is close enough to touch.

This week’s episode of Advent with Vision & Values centres on the theme Dreamers Who Dare to Make a Difference, inspired by Mary’s extraordinary courage and surrender. Mary didn’t have certainty, clarity, or control. What she had was trust. Her yes to God changed the world.

For this reason I kneel before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:14-20

Mary’s story reminds us that faith often begins with a simple, wholehearted yes. When we offer our lives to God as she did, He does more than we can imagine. He brings life where there was uncertainty, hope where there was fear and purpose where there was waiting.

At Solomon’s House, we want to be a people who dare to dream in this way. Not dreaming for our own sake, but dreaming with God. Believing that through Him, all things really are possible.

For this Christmas Eve episode, we were joined by Zainab, whose story reflects that courageous faith. You’ll also hear her baby and eldest in the background at times; beautiful babbling, grunting and the sounds of real life unfolding. It felt deeply fitting for a conversation rooted in Mary’s story. We are so blessed to be raising the next generation together, watching faith take shape in ordinary, sacred moments.
