Merry Christmas; Let’s Be Joyfully Generous!
Today we celebrate Christmas Day – the moment Advent has been leading us toward. Light has come into the world. Hope has taken on flesh. God has given Himself fully to us in Jesus.
This final episode of our podcast series centres on the theme Joyfully Generous. At Christmas, we remember that generosity is not something God asks of us without first showing us the way. He gives Himself completely. Freely. Joyfully.
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Ephesians 4:1–7, 15–16
God’s generosity changes how we live. When we receive the gift of Jesus, it reshapes our hearts and our posture toward others. We begin to live open-handedly – sharing not just what we have, but who we are. Our time. Our attention. Our patience. Our forgiveness. Our kindness.
At Solomon’s House, joyful generosity is woven into our life together. We believe every person carries gifts and that when we offer those gifts freely, God’s kindness flows through us into the lives of others. Christmas reminds us that generosity is not about excess, but about love; love that is given, shared and multiplied.
In this episode, we reflect on what it means to live generously in everyday ways and how generosity can shape families, friendships and community. It’s an invitation to carry the spirit of Christmas beyond today, letting it mark how we live in the days ahead.
As you listen, we invite you to pause and reflect:
What can I joyfully give (time, attention, forgiveness, or kindness) this Christmas?
May this Christmas fill you with peace, joy, and a renewed sense of God’s abundant love. And may that love flow freely through you to all those you encounter.
Merry Christmas from all of us at Solomon’s House.
