The Patriarchs & Our Vision As Solomon’s House

Advent invites us into a season of preparation and hope, a moment in the year where we pause long enough to notice what God is doing and realign our hearts to His story. In this first episode of our podcast, we explore the theme of The Patriarchs: Abraham, Sarah, David, and those who trusted God long before they saw the fulfilment of His promises.

With all wisdom and understanding,  he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Ephesians 1:9–10, 22–23

The Patriarchs remind us that faith is often a long journey rather than a quick moment. They lived with vision, trusting that God’s promises would unfold even when the path ahead wasn’t clear. Their lives invite us to live with that same posture: open, expectant, rooted in hope.

At Solomon’s House, we hold this calling closely. We believe God is already at work in our community, in our homes, and in the places we go each day. Our role is simply to join in; to make space for Jesus, to stay attentive, and to let His presence shape our purpose.

You’ll hear more about this in the episode, though a little disclaimer is needed before you listen. We had a small technical hiccup in recording, which meant the opening prayer had to be re-recorded at the end of a long few days… after I’d lost my voice. So if I sound slightly different in parts, I promise it’s still me…just me recovering from sounding like I swallowed sandpaper. Thank you for bearing with it.

As you listen, I’d love you to reflect on one question:

How can I make space this Advent for God’s vision to shape my purpose?

May this week invite you into hope, trust, and a renewed awareness of the God who is already moving in and around you.

So here it is, the first official episode of our Advent podcast series:
