Faithful Love: Trusting God Through It All

God’s faithful love is amazing. I cannot even begin to explain the amazing things that has happened in the last month and I can only think the Holy Spirit is really moving in my life and in the lives of those around me and I’m here for it!

The last three years has been one of the hardest periods our family has faced. After a sudden bereavement, followed closely by redundancy, it felt like life as we knew it had crumbled. There were moments of deep sorrow, confusion, and even doubt. But in the midst of it all, God’s love remained. Steady, faithful, and true.

Looking back now, I can see that His love wasn’t just present, it carried us.

We prayed. We cried. We shouted. We waited.
For a long time, it felt like nothing was happening. But here’s what I’ve come to know deeply in this season: God’s timing may not always align with ours, but it is always perfect. Which reminds me of a talk Sam did a few years ago at Easter (I think) about God’s timing feeling like its slowly…slowly… Suddenly! What felt like a long, silent delay was actually God preparing the way. Slowly, slowly… and then suddenly, everything began to shift.

Just In The Last Few Months

What we had been praying for over the past three years has begun to unfold and not just in the ways we expected. We’re experiencing answers, opportunities, and blessings that are more than what we asked for.

I think a major turning point for us came when we started attending church together as a family. It wasn’t easy at first. I had to compromise on where we went, which meant leaving my church family at Church At Barking Riverside, for the lovely Urbain at St. Erkenwald’s. But I can now say, with full confidence, that obedience in the small things opens the door to God’s abundance. Choosing unity, choosing surrender, choosing His will, even when it challenged my own preferences, made all the difference.

God doesn’t just bless our prayers. He blesses our submission. He blesses our surrender. He blesses when we align our hearts with His.

God’s Love Is Faithful and Abundant

Throughout this journey, one truth has stood above the rest: God’s love never fails. His love doesn’t change when we’re grieving. It doesn’t waver when we’re frustrated. It doesn’t disappear when we’re waiting. In fact, that’s often when His love is most at work.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)

This is our story. It’s a story of pain, patience, and, ultimately, as always, promise. And if you’re in the middle of your own “slowly, slowly…” season, I want to encourage you: hold on. God is working. He sees you. He hears you. His love is both faithful and abundant. And when His timing comes, it won’t just be right, it will be better than you imagined. All of a sudden…
