Easter

We have a lot going on over the Easter period, more details to follow so watch this space!

Shrove Tuesday

The day before Lent begins, using up all the rich items in the kitchen before the period of fasting and reflection in Lent

Ash Wednesday

The first day of Lent, symbolizing repentance and mortality, with ashes, typically from burned palm branches from the previous Palm Sunday. Ash is placed on foreheads as a reminder of human fragility and the need for spiritual renewal.

Lent

Lent is a 40-day period leading up to Resurrection Sunday, based on Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness.

We will have Easter Egg Hunts again this year, on the 6th April 3.30pm – 5.30pm.
Join us for family friendly fun and some chocolate!

Join Christ Church Thames View on Bastable Avenue for their Holy Communion Service to celebrate Palm Sunday.
10am – 11.30am

Maundy Thursday

This is the day that commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper.

Join Christ Church Thames View Church on Bastable Avenue for Holy Communion to mark the Last Supper. The service starts at 7pm.

Good Friday

The day Jesus was crucified on the cross.

Join us for prayer and stations of the cross at Christ Church Thames View on Bastable Avenue, 12pm-2pm. We will then use 2pm-3pm for a walk to the Rivergate Square finishing with prayers.

Easter Sunday

The day Jesus rose from the dead.

For the early risers among us, we will have a Dawn Service at Barking Riverside Pier at 5.30am – 6.30am, finishing with a light breakfast.

Join us for another joint service with the Rivergate churches! Join us for worship in different languages and The Word! The celebration starts at 11am 12.30pm.
